IMPORTANT NOTICEPlease read these Terms & Conditions carefully. By booking, attending, or continuing to use any services provided by Pooch’s Yard – Doggy Day Care LTD ("Pooch’s Yard"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions.Acceptance of these Terms is not dependent on a physical signature. A legally binding contract is formed through booking, attendance, and/or use of services under UK contract law.
1. Health, Vaccinations & Fitness for Daycare
1.1 All dogs must be fully vaccinated in accordance with current UK legal and licensing requirements, including Kennel Cough vaccination administered at least 14 days prior to attendance.1.2 Owners confirm their dog is in good health, free from contagious illness, parasites, fleas, ticks, or any condition that may reasonably pose a risk to other dogs, staff, or visitors.1.3 Dogs with pre-existing medical or behavioural conditions that may deteriorate during group care, or affect the safety of others, may be refused entry at Pooch’s Yard’s discretion.1.4 Owners must disclose all known medical and behavioural information accurately and fully on the consent form and pet profile. Failure to disclose relevant information constitutes a material breach of contract.
2. Veterinary Care & Emergencies
2.1 In the event of illness or injury, Pooch’s Yard may contact the owner’s nominated veterinary practice or use Eastgate Veterinary Surgery (Thetford), or another suitable veterinary provider where necessary.2.2 Under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018, Pooch’s Yard is authorised to act in the best interests of animal welfare and may arrange emergency veterinary treatment where required.2.3 All veterinary fees, medication costs, emergency care, transport, and associated expenses remain the responsibility of the owner, unless injury or illness is proven to have been caused by negligence of Pooch’s Yard.2.4 Pooch’s Yard is not liable for illness, injury, or death arising from pre-existing conditions, natural causes, force majeure events, or factors beyond reasonable control.
3. Behaviour, Socialisation & Suitability
3.1 Owners confirm their dog is suitable for a group daycare environment and is not aggressive, dangerously reactive, or otherwise unsafe around other dogs or people.3.2 Dogs in season must not attend daycare. Owners must notify Pooch’s Yard immediately. Dogs must not return for 28 days following the end of a season. Pooch’s Yard accepts no responsibility for pregnancy where this condition is not disclosed.3.3 Dogs displaying aggression, persistent negative behaviour, excessive mounting, or unsafe conduct may be refused entry or permanently excluded with immediate effect and without notice.3.4 Dogs used as stud dogs (past or present) are not accepted.3.5 Images, videos, or media captured by Pooch’s Yard must not be used by owners for stud advertisements, breeding promotions, or puppy litter advertising without the prior written consent of Pooch’s Yard.3.6 Pooch’s Yard does not permit the use of its branding, premises, or media to promote breeding activity of any kind.3.7 Under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, Pooch’s Yard does not accept dogs including but not limited to the American Pit Bull Terrier or American XL Bully type.
4. Feeding & Medication
4.1 Owners are advised to feed dogs at home either at least one hour before drop-off or after collection.4.2 Feeding during daycare is discouraged for large breeds and brachycephalic breeds due to choking, vomiting, and bloat risks.4.3 Where feeding during care is requested or forms part of the dog’s routine, the owner accepts full responsibility for associated risks.4.4 Medication may be administered only with prior notice, in original packaging, with a valid veterinary label. Pooch’s Yard will administer medication strictly in accordance with written veterinary instructions.
5. Weather Policy
5.1 Pooch’s Yard reserves the right to close or adjust services due to extreme weather conditions, including but not limited to:Cold: Temperatures below -3°C not forecast to rise above -3°C by midday, or severe snowfallHeat: Temperatures exceeding 34°C5.2 Owners must be prepared to collect their dog at short notice or arrange alternative collection.5.3 Where owners attend contrary to advice given during extreme weather, Pooch’s Yard accepts no liability for resulting weather-related illness or injury.
6. Property Damage
6.1 Owners are liable for any damage caused by their dog to Pooch’s Yard property, fixtures, fittings, or equipment.6.2 Minor wear and tear to toys is expected and not chargeable.
7. Media & Marketing
7.1 Pooch’s Yard may photograph or video dogs during attendance.7.2 Media may be used for marketing, social media, advertising, and promotional purposes.7.3 By booking and/or signing the consent form, owners grant permission for this use. All images, video, and content remain the property of Pooch’s Yard.
8. Cancellations, Payments & Late Fees
8.1 Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged in full, unless otherwise stated in a VIP package.8.2 Late collections incur the following fees:After 7:00pm – £10After 7:10pm – £5 for every additional 5 minutes (rounded up)Collection times are recorded by staff and via CCTV.8.3 Failed or Rejected Payments
Where a payment attempt fails for any reason, the outstanding balance remains payable.8.4 Grace Period
A 24-hour grace period will be provided following notification of a failed payment.8.5 Late Payment Fee
If payment is not received in full by the end of the grace period, a late payment fee of £2.50 per calendar day will be applied automatically from the following day until the balance is cleared.8.6 Outstanding balances and late payment fees must be settled before further services are provided.
9. Liability, Injury & Indemnity
9.1 Under the Animals Act 1971, the owner or keeper of a dog remains legally responsible for the actions and behaviour of their dog at all times, including whilst in the care of Pooch’s Yard.9.2 Where a dog causes injury to another dog, person, or property, the owner of the dog responsible agrees to be fully liable for all resulting costs, including veterinary treatment, emergency care, medication, rehabilitation, property damage, and associated administrative expenses.9.3 The owner acknowledges that dog daycare is a social environment involving inherent risks and voluntarily assumes those risks, except where loss or injury is caused by proven negligence of Pooch’s Yard.9.4 Indemnity
The owner agrees to fully indemnify and hold harmless Pooch’s Yard – Doggy Day Care LTD, its directors, employees, and agents against any claims, losses, damages, costs, or expenses arising from the behaviour or actions of their dog, including legal and enforcement costs.9.5 Any costs arising under this section are immediately payable upon notification. Failure to pay may result in suspension of services and recovery action via the County Court (Small Claims Track).9.6 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
10. Agreement & Governing Law
10.1 These Terms & Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the parties.10.2 They are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.10.3 By booking, attending, or continuing to use services, the owner confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions, whether or not a separate document is signed.
